Speaker:  Tommie Lewis

Topic: Belonging and Connection: The Journey to Cultural Humility

Belonging is a sense of fitting in or feeling like you are an important member of a group. Belonging within a workplace increases employee retention, engagement and productivity. People who feel they belong perform better, become more willing to challenge themselves, and are more resilient. We combine the practices of social architecting and relationship management in order to create an impact on the participants and the overall work culture.

In this session, you will learn:

  1. Understand how our own implicit biases, stereotypes and microaggressions impact our ability to effectively connect and engage others.
  2. Practice ways to communicate what we need and want to belong in any environment.
  3. Develop a personal and professional plan for finding your fit in an organization.
